Bug In? Bug Out? Which one do you choose?

  1. It depends on the situation and whether you have somewhere to bug out to. Economic collapse with social decay in the the major cities, I would bug in; but then again, I don't live in a city and have a great place that is partially stocked (a work in progress) and well armed. If it were a local event, such as a hurricane or earthquake, I would probably bug in, unless I knew it was going to hit right where I am and had time to bug out (hurricane). Overall, I think the cities will be the worst place to be in pretty much any event. If you have the means to have land or a friend or family's place you can bug out to in the event you need to, I would try to arrange that now. Talk to your friends and family and make sure they are ok with you showing up if something happens. If it's land, make sure you have a place to stay (cabin, storage container, even a tent would be better than nothing) and supplies. You might need a cache of supplies hidden and/or buried. But being away from as many people as possible will be better than being stuck in a place where all the bad sides of people will come out in a disaster. This is just my opinion. And yes, I know it is basically rambling...I'm not a great writer :)

    1. LOL, your writing is just fine. I agree with you on many of the points you make. Our first plan is to bug in because it is where we have better security, more supplies, etc. A bug out location (or two) is a necessity to have your triple redundancy. You could not pay me enough money to live in a city. Cities equal death trap in the case of a catastrophe.

Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it. Happy blogging.
